Chetan Bhagat an Indian author who is famous for his fiction and non fiction novels was once included in TIME magazine's list of world's 100 Most influential people in 2010. He has written nine novels and three non fiction books, his novels have been listed as best sellers.



Bhagat is famous for writing in genres of romance, realistic fiction and non fiction, his famous non realistic genre novels are five point someone, one night at the call center, The three mistakes of my life, two states, revolution 2020, half girl friend, one Indian girl, The girl in the room 105, and One arranged murder. Most of his non fiction novels have been casted as films in Bollywood. 






Top Five Best Novels of Chetan Bhagat

1) One night @ the call center

This novel was published in the year 2005 and was recorded as second best seller from Bhagat's novels. The story revolves around six people working at a call center in Gurgaon, Harayana, Every character has his own problems and characteristic facing in his life and wants change it. One night in their casual working hours they come across a server problem which leads everybody to spend their time while the servers are getting fixed, they decide to go party as they have plenty of time and have always worked hard in their work life. After the party while they are returning back they get stuck in a car which is hanging and a sudden call from God. The story has its own soft touch to each character while you start liking and its own nail biting end which makes you get goosebumps by the end of it which has been the signature style of our favourite author Chetan Bhagat.





2) 2 States



This novel came in fame when it was adapted to a film in Hindi with the same title. Though there is a film you get to watch its still thrilling to read the original as it is also Bhagat's own life story. This novel was published in the year 2009 and speaks about two people from two different states, one being from Punjab and another from Tamil Nadu madly fall in love with each other. The story elevates when the problem of convincing the two families to accept them arises. This story is very light hearted and is very lively to read and enjoy. 







3) Half Girlfriend




Yet another novel to film adapted story which was quite fascinating to the Bollywood audience while the film was released, though the film was adapted their was quite few changes made in the film while the novel story is the original piece. This novel was published in the year 2014 and has you hooked up to the the story from the begging. The story goes around different cities and is about two people who start liking each other but the twist is that the female character suddenly puts forward that she wants to be just a half girlfriend to the male character. Now who would have got such a thought while you are getting committed in a relationship? As the story continue we get to read and feel the bond and chemistry the two characters have and explore about the concept half girlfriend as the story keeps moving forward. The next twist is when the female character goes missing and our poor male character starts searching for his better half i mean half girl friend. Will he finally get to meet? What happens after they meet? read to enjoy this romantic thriller and enjoy. 


4) The Girl in the room 105



I must say this has been so far my favourite novel of Bhagat. If you ever studied in an university and stayed in the college campus then i must tell you you would love to go back to your lovy dovy days and start relishing the days of college again. This novel was published in the year 2018 and this novel's genre is thriller mystery. The story starts with a male character being a college professor who is trying hard to come out of his past love story which ended in bad terms because of their family problems. One night the professor and his friend goes to the bar to have a shot and he realizes that its Ex girlfriend's birthday. After a huge debate as to wish her or not he finally comes to a conclusion to wish her. After wishing her they both get knocked down and sleep, waking up in the middle of night he receives a reply from her saying she wants to meet him right that second in her room. Filled with joy he jumps to see her and steps inside her room through the window. The room is covered with darkness and silence,as he goes forward near the bed he touches her forehead and soon realizes that its completely cold to which he switches on the light and get shocked to see her dead. He immediately calls his friend and informs about the incidence to which he suggests to run away, but he denied and becomes stubborn to find the real suspect. The story starts elevating up with more suspects and for a fact about who replied to his birthday wishes, was it her before the death or was it the murder. Read the novel to find the culprit and i promise you would be sitting in the edge of your seat while your reading the last chapter.


5) One arranged marriage murder



This novel will be your next roller coaster ride after your novel the girl in the room 105, as the story as few characters and story reference from the before published novel. This novel is the latest by Bhagat and was published in the year 2020. The story revolves around a couple who are just three months away to be getting married to each other but however on the night of karawachauth the women character is being pushed from her terrace and dies. The story elevates as to who and why wanted her to die. Read the complete story to giggle here and there and sit at the edge of your seat to enjoy the sudden twirls in story until the last page of the novel.
